Instruct-ERIC Course: AF4 and SEC-MALS methods and their utilization in cryoEM sample preparation (Deadline 16 MAR 2025)

Course Title and link:

AF4 and SEC-MALS methods and their utilization in cryoEM sample preparation

General Description:

The 5-day hands-on course teaches non-destructive sample characterization techniques to improve cryo-EM structure determination efficiency, focusing on size exclusion chromatography (SEC) and asymmetrical flow field flow fractionation (AF4) coupled with light scattering (LS) to assess size, shape, and heterogeneity of biological samples before vitrification. The program includes optimization of samples specifically for cryo-EM, along with grid preparation and preliminary sample screening, with participants having the option to work with their own samples.

Type of Event: Hands-on course

Location: University of Helsinki, Finland

Date: 19-23 MAY 2025
